Dogs have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up around them gave me a deep appreciation for their personalities, intelligence, and the incredible bond they share with people.

My journey into dog training really began 35 years ago when, at the age of 13, I made what some might call a bold decision. I brought home a reactive German Shepherd without mentioning it to my parents first. It's fair to say they weren't expecting me to arrive home with a dog that day, and the surprise wasn't exactly met with immediate enthusiasm! Looking back, it was probably the first lesson in managing difficult situations—something that would later become a key part of my work with dogs and their owners.

That German Shepherd changed the course of my life. Working through her challenges taught me the importance of patience, consistency, understanding canine behaviour, and building trust. What started as a teenager's determination to help one dog soon developed into a lifelong passion for training and helping others achieve the same success.

Over the last 35 years, I have worked with dogs across a wide range of disciplines and training environments. While I help many owners with everyday obedience, behavioural challenges, reactivity, recall, lead work, and puppy development, I have also developed specialist experience in detection training, gun dog training, and protection work. These disciplines require a deeper understanding of canine drives, communication, and motivation, and they have helped shape the balanced and practical approach I use with every dog I work with today.

Over the years, that passion has grown into a true family business. My wife became a huge part of the journey and an invaluable member of the team. Together, we've spent years helping dogs and their owners build stronger relationships through practical, effective training, quality equipment, and honest advice.

Today, we're proud to be passing that knowledge on to the next generation. Our grandchildren are growing up surrounded by dogs, learning the same values of respect, patience, responsibility, and understanding that have shaped our lives. For us, dog training isn't just a profession—it's a family tradition.
